Torch Albany is pleased to invite you its sixth Zoom presentation, on Monday. Feb 1,2021,  at 7 PM…
Our Speaker will be Brian Nussbaum, who will address  “Terrorism in the United States: Domestic, International, and In-Between”   His talk will cover domestic terrorism, touch on international terrorism, and spend some time on how they almost always blend together in various ways.  It is hard to imagine a more timely topic.

Brian Nussbaum is an assistant professor in the College of Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security and Cybersecurity (CEHC) at the University at Albany, and an affiliate scholar with the Center for Internet and Society (CIS) at Stanford Law School. His research focuses on cybersecurity, terrorism, homeland security, and intelligence studies.  Nussbaum previously served as senior intelligence analyst with the New York State Office of Counter Terrorism (OCT), a part of the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services (DHSES).  Nussbaum received his Ph.D. and master’s degree in political science from the University at Albany and bachelor’s degree in political science from Binghamton University. His work has appeared in numerous books and journals including Studies in Conflict and Terrorism, Global Crime, the International Journal of Intelligence and Counterintelligence, and the Journal of Cyber Policy.
******
The talk will begin at 7 PM.  However, the meeting will open at 6:40 pm.  This will give an opportunity for our members and friends to talk among themselves, Torch style, before the meeting begins (and again at the end.)  So, order up your libation, sit back in your easy chair, and log into the meeting between 6:30 and 7 PM, enjoy the camaraderie of your friends, and then participate in the presentation at 7 PM.
******As we have before, please RSVP to me, yes or no, so I can be sure that  you received the invitation (there have been some issues), and in order for our Zoom meister, Dave Rudinger, to organize the Zoom session,  The Zoom link will be sent a few days before the meeting.
